Jody grew up on a farm in Kansas and graduated from Kansas State as a Medical Technologist. She has been fortunate to live in Los Angeles, Boulder, Idaho and Alaska. She has spent most of her career managing clinical laboratories in small rural hospitals. She was a trailblazer when she became the first female pharmaceutical sales rep in Kansas. However, over the years she has come to realize the importance of alternative modalities of healthcare as a means to not only maintain health but to help seek a balance in life. One of her goals is to help educate more people about the benefits of Integrative Medicine and to work with insurance providers, including DSHS, to expand coverage for naturopathic medicine.
Jody has lived with her husband Barry, a psychotherapist, on Whidbey Island since 2011. They are busy raising their three adopted grandchildren, ages 8, 9 and 11. She also has an adult son who works for the Forest Service. Her hobbies include gardening, taking care of their sheep and chickens, as well as painting and restoring furniture. That is, when she is not being a soccer, baseball, swimming and dance team mom!
Jody loves the island and all the opportunities it offers. She is excited to be part of the Reboot staff and to work to make naturopathic integrative healthcare accessible for all.
